2027 Ticket Changes

Starting September 1, 2026, VGM CON will be switching its ticketing platform from The Events Calendar Tickets Plus to ConCat. This will enable us to streamline our ticketing system, add new features, and most importantly, increase system uptime reliability during registration and at the event.

Continue reading below to see how this change impacts you.

What changes are coming to the registration process? All ticket purchases will require you to register for an account. This account allows you to manage your registration, purchase upgrades and merchandise, and apply to become an exhibitor. All attendees have the option to set their account to automatically delete at the end of the convention via a checkbox during registration.

I have a ticket to VGM CON 2027. What do I need to do? Tickets already purchased will be migrated to the new system manually during the month of September 2026. All existing information will transfer, but some details (including your full address) will temporarily use a placeholder. Once you receive your reissued ticket and account details, you can log in and update your address.

Why are you moving to a new system? Our previous provider didn’t scale well to an event of 1,100+ people — frequently experiencing downtime, incomplete registrations, and creating friction when registering our 200+ musicians, guests, and staff. ConCat is designed specifically for conventions rather than generic ticketed events, improving both reliability and experience.

I am a Lifetime Ticket holder. What do I need to do? Once existing tickets are transferred, we will begin issuing tickets to Lifetime Ticket holders throughout September 2026. To claim your pass, create an account using the link emailed to you, and complete registration. A 100% discount will apply automatically. You will also have the option to upgrade your ticket to higher tiers within the new system.

Are there any changes to your refund policy? No. The VGM CON refund policy remains unchanged: paid tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable to another person (excluding Lifetime Tickets) or deferrable to the following convention year.

What is Gamer’s Rhapsody on my credit card statement? Gamer’s Rhapsody is the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that produces VGM CON. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

I applied or plan to apply as an exhibitor, musician, guest, or staff member. Do I buy a ticket first? No, do not buy a ticket in advance. Exhibitor badges are included with vendor registration, guests receive complimentary admission, and staff/volunteers receive registration details once their roles and shifts are confirmed.

What happens if I don’t receive my account migration email? If you purchased a ticket prior to September 1 and have not received an email by October 1, 2026, please reach out to us at tickets@vgmcon.org.
