2024 VGM CON COVID-19 and Health Policy

Following careful evaluation of the current health trends, local and national health guidance and with input from medical professionals, as of November 15, 2023 VGM CON will no longer require proof of vaccination or convention-wide masking in order to attend VGM CON. We will continue to make masks available at our event to all participants who would like them, and maintain our other health and safety policies and standards from the last two years. You can read more on those below. This policy may change if conditions worsen or new guidance is issued from health authorities. 

Here are some of the specific steps we are taking to continue to keep our community safe:

• Encouraging mask-wearing in all indoor spaces. Masks are an additional layer of protection against airborne illnesses. Community partner spaces may require masking. 
• Masks available to anyone who wants or needs one. VGM CON staff will continue to have masks available to anyone who should want one. Just ask us!
• Providing hand sanitizer stations throughout the event space. We encourage everyone to wash their hands frequently and to use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
• Cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly. Our staff clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces (knobs, microphones, etc.) throughout the event space during the day.
• Limiting capacity in certain areas. We may limit the number of people allowed in certain areas of the event space to maintain reasonable capacity levels.

• Zero tolerance for harassment. We will continue to encourage masking and our updated code-of-conduct will protect the right of anyone who chooses to do so.

We highly encourage all VGM CON participants to follow guidance from their healthcare provider to stay current on available vaccines.

If you are exposed to COVID ahead of VGM CON you should test, isolate, and wear a mask. If you are feeling sick please do not attend the event.
