8-bit Music Theory

I’m 8-bit, creator of the 8-bit Music Theory YouTube Channel. I make videos analyzing how and why our favourite video game music sounds so great, using a combination of my formal music education and hundreds of hours of personal study.

I decided to start making videos after spending years scouring the internet, trying unsuccessfully to find nerdy music theory videos that weren’t either A) directed at complete beginners or B) unbearably dry and boring. Eventually I just said “screw it, I’m making my own videos”, and here we are. If you, like me, wish for more high-level-yet-non-academic music analysis, this is the place for you.
