The Returners are a flute-fronted rock/metal VGM band mostly based out of Austin, Texas. They love bringing music from their favorite games to life with note-for-note recreations of often technically demanding, musically diverse material, from heavy rock and symphonic metal to delicate acoustic solos. They have performed at PAX Prime, PAX South, MAGFest and more; their long-anticipated second album Monster Jams is coming out later in 2024. Yes, they’re named for the heroes in Final Fantasy VI, and their repertoire does include RPG soundtracks! But it also extends to both obscure and well-loved games in many genres and even occasionally beyond video games, with an emphasis on nostalgia and showmanship. They have a ton of fun every time they perform, and they will do their best to make sure you have fun, too.
