mezzocarattere feat. 88bit

Annie Rosen (mezzocarattere) and Rob Kovacs (88bit) performing an intimate piano-vocal recital of operatic VGM. From Celes (FF6) to Aya (Parasite Eve) to that one boss (Nier: Automata), opera has a celebrated place in game music history. Come hear classical-style arrangements of some of your favorite game tunes* in a chill environment where you can wear what you want, clap when you want, and only occasionally be blasted with loud high C’s to the face.

Pianist Rob Kovacs has been widely hailed for his shape-shifting musical experimentalism, spanning history-making classical feats and audacious recreations of video game soundtracks to crafting mesmerizing indie rock both as bandleader and solo artist. Annie Rosen was inspired to become an opera singer when she saw Celes tear up the stage in Final Fantasy VI. She’s since performed principal roles in opera houses internationally, but never forgotten VGM, her first love.
